SOLANGE
BROWN is a French Canadian from the Province of Quebec. She graduated
from Studio 437, Inc., in Quebec City in Interior Design in 1973,
and was a certified member of both Design Canada and The Societee
des Decorateurs Ensembliers du Quebec. She pursued an independent
career in this field in the '70's throughout the Province. After
moving to Virginia in 1980, she worked as a commercial artist
in Northern Virginia where she also perfected her skill as a
watercolorist under the tutelage of artist Judy Wengrowitcz.
With her design and commercial art background, Solange
developed her own talent by attending workshops with renowned
watercolorists Tom Lynch, Jan Kunz, Gerald Brommer, and Arne
Westerman to name a few. She is a charter member of the Uptown
Gallery and also a member of the Metropolitan Artists Association,
the Bon Air Artists Association, the Crossroads Art Center, the
Virginia Watercolor Society and Richmond Watercolorists.
"Art
blends the mysterious and fantastic world of the unconscious
with the beauty and grace of the natural world. I love to paint
intricate flowers, landscapes, and other natural subject. But
my heart is really into imaginary work, particularly angels,
in which I find inspiration and the most satisfying expression
of my talents."
